Common Questions

Exterior Detailing FAQ

How often should I get my car detailed? +

For most drivers, a full exterior detail every 3–6 months keeps your paint in great condition. A monthly hand wash between details helps prevent contaminant buildup. If you park outside or live near the coast, more frequent cleaning is worth it — road salt and UV are the two biggest threats to paint.

What's the difference between a wash and a detail? +

A wash removes surface dirt and debris. A detail goes much further — clay bar decontamination, machine polishing to remove swirl marks and scratches, and protective coatings to seal the paint. A detail corrects and protects; a wash maintains. Think of detailing as the reset, washing as the maintenance.

Can you remove scratches and swirl marks? +

Yes — machine polishing removes swirl marks and light to moderate scratches from the clear coat. Deep scratches that penetrate into the base coat or primer may require wet sanding or touch-up paint. We'll assess your paint's condition before recommending the right level of correction.
